Ever wonder how to make a cell say "Yes" / "No" when you enter 1 or 0?
Here's how ↓
First off, Excel formats numbers like this:
positive number ; negative number ; zero ; text
So, if you have a dropdown list (made with data validation) that uses 1 and 0,
here's what you can do:
* Press "ctrl +1" to bring up the Format Cells box
* Click "Number" (upper-left)
* then click "Custom" (bottom of the list)
* and type in this format:
"Yes";;"No";
What it's saying is:
"Show a positive number as 'Yes'"
"Don't do anything for a negative number" (I assume this defaults to General)
"Show a zero as 'No'"
"Don't do anything for text" (again, prob defaults to General)
And that's it.
Now your list is easy to read, but still has the 0 / 1 functionality for multiplication (or whatever you need it for).
